Alignment Vector - AlphaCam Automation Manager
Does anyone have any experience with Alignment Vector CSV import setting? I was able to use it rotate a part so the grain was aligned correctly, but I have some parts that are importing standing on edge, and I was hoping to use Alignment Vector to make them lay flat.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

HSMworks Adding a second Op?
Setting up a two-vise job, real simple part to learn more programming and HSMworks quirks.
The part is a 5" milling vise soft jaw, I ran the first bit today and while I goofed and had the chamfer mill running on the wrong side of the profile (cut a V-groove around the top of the part instead of chamfering) it did fine on the pocket mill and boring for the fasteners, and it didn't crash the vise or fling the workpiece off into orbit.
Now, I need to setup the part for Op 2 in vise 2, where I face the back of the part off. That's all that's left, just face off the back and then debur.
What's the process needed here? Re-model the part+stock remaining and import as a second job, then combine the two programs? Seems like there should be a more straightforward method.

Just In BobCAD CAM Releases New Support Page -
Hello CNC Zone!
Over the last few months, our team has worked diligently to develop and release the new BobCAD Support site. The support website is redesigned to make it easier to find information about your BobCAD CAM software. In the past, all users needed to log into the support site to gain access to the knowledge base, recorded training events, and other information. The new site moves this information forward, helping you and your staff get up to speed faster with the BobCAD CAM software by making this information easier to access for all.
Key new areas of the site.
Recorded Virtual Events - https://bobcadsupport.com/training-r...irtual-events/
We host weekly live training events covering all topics BobCAD. Over the last year, we've built a library of these recorded training events. Using the above link gives you access to all the T1 training events.
Watch recorded training sessions for 2D/3D CAD CAM, 4 Axis machining and more.
Getting Started with Post Processing - https://bobcadsupport.com/post-proce...-with-posting/
This section of the support page provides resources new and existing users need to better understand what post processors are, what they do, and how to change them. This section also gives you access to download posts, request modification, and more.
New User Forum - https://forum.bobcad.com/
Social networks are popular, but many BobCAD customers prefer to communicate on a traditional forum ( just like cnc zone ). This community is the best place to communicate with other BobCAD users, Staff, even development. If you haven't joined our new user forum, do it today!
Knowledge Base - https://bobcadsupport.com/knowledgebase/
Search and find documentation on software topics, training, and post processors. Before you call support search our knowledge base for your solution.
Software Builds and Updates https://bobcadsupport.com/technical-...tware-updates/
Download installs, builds, and release notes for BobCAD CAM, BobCAM for SOLIDWORKS, BobCAM for RHINO
BobCAD-CAM offers 3 product families for you to choose from.

Need Help! Alphacam Automation: csv list to nested sheets.
Hi Guys,
We are using Alphacam 2020 including automation manager. I would like to automate our process where by we only route nested sheets with square panels.
Process in Alphacam I would be:
- Input csv file with number of sheets & length & width & thickness & ordernumber
- automatically generate squares & cutout paths (using parametric sketches)
- nest these squares incl toolpaths into sheets database
- output all to default post processor
- generate reports and labels for the sheets
I think this should be possible with automation manager and parametric sketches but I cannot find where to start of how to link automation manager to parametric sketches function.
Thanks in advance!
Alan

Greetings all,
I just obtained a DSI LRP-300 paper tape punch and reader and am in need of the service/tech manual for the device to include schematics. Is there any chance someone out there has one they could scan for me ? I would appreciate it and could cover expenses.

meshcam alternative for newbie
I have been using meshcam (free 14 day trial) and it works fine, but CNC will be a hobby with a cheap Chinese milling machine. They want $250 for the standard version and that is just too much for an occasional hobby user.
What might be a reasonable alternative? I wouldn't mind paying up to $100 if needed.
The easier the UI the better.

Newbie Not sure of the process
So today is the day to decide the software to use with my cnc router project. I'm not sure of the electro is pieces involved. I'll lay out what I think I know and you can correct me at will.
Working backwards, i get the motor/ driver interface. Where I go dumb is from the BOB to the computer. It seems the BOB is sometimes proprietary to the cam software. So a software decision needs to be made.
Another brain fog moment comes from the insertion of andrinos and Rpi. I'm not sure why this is there. Is it so you don't have to tie a computer proper to the machine? Why the extra processor? Is it just so you can use grbl or mach? What are my software (cam) options if I just want to port from a motherboard mounted in the box (with associated hardware). Would this mean I only need controller software on this puter? Which one software?
If I run a cad system like Catia (I have it already) and use the machining work bench to create cutter paths, what do I use to post process? Does the postP determine what controller software to use? Somebody point me to a link or explain this to me
Thanks for your time and attention.
